Home from School Sick Vinyl (Part 3)

The beast has finally awoken although she isn’t straying too far from the EZ-Boy.

And who can blame her?

Anyway, we’re moving onto the 3rd part of our “Home Sick from School” vinyl celebration this afternoon with – Gawd, I can’t even believe I’m typing this – ‘Vital Signs‘  by Survivor.

What can I say?

The kiddo also likes her cheesy 80’s rock n’ roll.

This is something we’ve been sitting on since August when we visited Vinyl Destination in Merrickville, Ontario along the way.

I bought this (click HERE) and she found this album.

I didn’t even know that Survivor had another album.  But, believe it or not, this album is the bands 5th studio album and their first with vocalist Jimi Jamison.  The album was their second most successful in the U.S., reaching #16 on the Billboard Album charts and being certified platinum by the RIAA.

And, low and behold, it also had some hits including ‘I Can’t Hold Back‘ (which, I definitely know but didn’t realize it was Survivor), ‘High on You‘, ‘The Search Is Over‘ (which was bettered only by the #2 placing of ‘Burning Heart‘  from the Rocky IV soundtrack a year later) and ‘First Night‘.  Outside of the singles, the other songs on the album keep up with the band’s cheese-personified formula.

I can’t say I’m loving it too much and I most assuredly including it on my Shit List, but HRH  sure is and, today, if it’s alleviating the headaches and tummy pains while I work, then so be it.

Suck it up I will.

About crazytigerrabbitman

I am a fat guy and always will be in the same way they say that “once an alcoholic; always an alcoholic”. Eventually I got upset about my poor health and ballooning body frame so I decided to change things for the better. Some people sign up for Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, or whatever fad diet program it is that happens to be occupying the majority of air time on the boob tube. Other people prefer to run out and purchase the latest, fold away, piece of shit being hawked by some celebrity has-been. Me? I decided to take up triathlon. I had abused my body over the years with bacon cheeseburgers, pints of beer and double-dipped donuts, and the time had now come to abuse my body with physical exertion, perseverance and hard work instead; penitence in it's purest form. The time had come to kick my ass. I am Terry Nash and I am the “fat and the furious”.
